On behalf of the entire staff, I would like to thank everyone that participated in this year’s Member-Guest. We hosted 58 teams competing to be major champions. After the completion of Sunday’s shootout, we crowned this year’s champions, Bo Dickerson and Joe Fennig. Member credits have been applied to all the winners’ accounts and you can now use those credits for golf shop merchandise.

Registration is still open for this Saturday’s Easy 9 Tough 9 (Dino’s revenge). If you would like to play you can call the golf shop no later than Thursday, October 16th. Or email us at steven@skybrookgolf.com.

HUNTERSVILLE, NC (Skybrook Golf Club) —

Registration is now open for the Club Championship on Saturday, August 26th and Sunday, August 27th. This year’s tournament will feature a Championship Flight (Gross), 1st Flight (Net/Gross), 2nd Flight (Net/Gross), Senior Flight (55+ Net/Gross), Super Senior (70+ Net/Gross), Ladies Flight (Net/Gross), and Junior Flight (18 years and younger) all competing in a two-day stroke play format.

The men’s club champion will be crowned from the gross championship flight and the ladies club champion will be awarded to the lady who shoots the lowest gross score in the ladies’ flight. The event cost is $150 per person ($60 for juniors), the entry fee includes cart fees and lunch following play both days. Please signup by Wednesday, August 23rd at 5:00 pm by calling the golf shop.

On behalf of the entire staff, I would like to thank everyone that participated in this year’s Member-Member. We hosted 96 members competing to be major champions. After the completion of Sunday’s shootout, we crowned this year’s champions, David Robinson and Ryan Denniston. Member credits have been applied to all the winners’ accounts and you can now use those credits for golf shop merchandise.

Registration for the remainder of this year’s majors is now open. You are welcome to sign up for the Club Championship on August 26th-27th as well as the Member-Guest on September 22nd-24th by stopping by the club house and signing up in the event book. If you are interested in signing up for a major, you must have a 6 Month LHI (Low Handicap Index). In order for GHIN to calculate a proper 6 Month LHI, you also must have posted 10 score in the last 12 months. Please note that Member-Guest has a max capacity of 60 teams.

As many of you are aware, last fall we lost the large beech tree on Hole 18. Over the past several months, we have worked on developing an action plan to address that area. I’m happy to announce we have finally completed the project by adding a new bunker along the right-hand side of the fairway. We feel this bunker will still provide a challenging tee shot while keeping the integrity of the hole intact. The club would like to thank Dino and his staff for all the hard work put into this large project.

We’ve made it through the worst of winter and are very excited about the warm weather March brings to the Charlotte area. Along with the weather, the club will see more rounds being played and we encourage all members to take full advantage of their 14-day advanced booking window. Don’t forget that you can book tee times online through the member only booking system. All you need to do is logon to www.skybrookgolf.com, click on the “Tee Times” tab in the upper right-hand corner, then click the “Sign In” button” in the upper right-hand corner of the tee time page. After completing these steps, you will be prompted to provide your login credentials to gain access to the members only tee time system. If you need help logging into your online member portal, please reach out to the Professional Staff for help.

It’s that time of year again where frost delays and cold rainy days are seen more often than not. We kindly ask that you be patient with the staff as we do our best to navigate these challenging weather conditions. Often, we must change the starting hole, move tee time’s back, and adjust the hours of operation for the driving range to protect grounds from frost or snow. If you have a tee time in sub-freezing weather conditions, we ask that you call the golf shop and we can give you a course update and predicted starting times.

With the beginning of the new year, we are excited for the warm weather it brings and our 2023 club events. The club has began to see an influx of outside play due to the closings of other golf facilities and we encourage all members to take full advantage of their 14-day advanced booking window. We are very excited to see all returning members as well as a bunch of new faces at the club this year! We are forecasting for 2023 to be the biggest year Skybrook has seen yet and we want to make sure it’s great one for everybody!

The early summer months brought extremely challenging weather conditions with the long drought we faced. I want to thank Dino Psroudis and his staff for the wonderful job they did keeping the course in fantastic shape during those trying months. We are thankful that with the start of July we received heavy rains turning the course into the lush playing surface we are enjoying today. Thank you for your continued support in the club and we look forward to seeing everyone around the club.
